NASL Soccer is one of the earliest and most influential soccer simulations released for a home video game console. Players control an entire team through passing, dribbling, tackling, throw-ins, corner kicks, and penalty kicks in a fast-paced match that rewards teamwork and strategy. Originally released by Mattel Electronics under an official North American Soccer League (NASL) license, the game was also marketed simply as Soccer, with identical gameplay after the league branding was removed. As the first video game to feature an official soccer league license, NASL Soccer helped establish the standard for future soccer games on home consoles and remains a landmark title in the Intellivision library.
