SCORING SYSTEM Every time a player answers a question correctly, a corresponding score-card is awarded.
Before the game begins players sbould determine the length of the game to be played by deciding how many score-cards, always an equal number in each category, must be acquired before proceeding to the table.
A short twelve card game (2 in each category) or a leisurely thirty card game is left to the discretion of the players.
OBJECT OF THE GAME First a player must collect the predetermined number of score-cards (12, 18, 24 or 30).
This player must then proceed to the centre of the table, with an exact throw of the die, and correctly answer a question from the category chosen by the player(s) with the least number of score-cards.
If the question is answered correctly, the game is won.

TO BEGIN Each player (or team) chooses a salt-shaker and sets it on one of the place settings at the table.
The player with the lowest roll of the die begins.
The first player rolls the die and moves the appropriate number of spaces away from the table down any aisle.
The player is then asked a question from the category on which the token has landed.
SERVE FROM THE LEFT-PASS TO THE RIGHT The question is always “served from the left”, that is, the player on the left asks the question.
The cards should be returned to the back of the box with the green side facing out.
If the player answers the question correctly a corresponding score-card is awarded and the player may then take another turn. If the player fails to answer correctly, play “passes to the right”.
A player can move in any direction with each roll of the die but the direction cannot be reversed within a move.
SECOND HELPINGS When a player’s salt-shaker lands on the corners of the hexagonal course the player is entitled to a “second helping”, that is, whether or not the question is answered correctly, a second question in the same category is allowed. The player’s salt-shaker must remain in this space for the second question which must be answered correctly to maintain the play.
The table or centre of the board counts as one space if a player is crossing this area. A roll of the die which ends at the table area allows the player who has rolled to select a question from any category.
LEAVE THE TABLE Once a player has all the necessary score-cards, this player must then proceed to the table centre and attempt to answer the question chosen by the most disadvantaged player(s).
If the question is not answered correctly, the player must immediately “leave the table”! The player must remove the salt-shaker from the table centre and place it on any square in the hexagonal course from which it will move on the next turn.
After “leaving the table”, the player must forfeit one score-card from any category which must he regained before proceeding to the table for the final question.
If the final question is answered correctly, the game is won.
